Just wanted to post my experience w/the Testors One Coat Lacquer.
I sprayed 2 different models, one using the Testors Lacquer white primer, one w/o. Both are AMT plastic (white plastic), one 61 Ford Falcon Ranchero, the other a 63 Chevy Impala.
The Falcon Ranchero was sprayed with the primer and left to dry/gas out for about 15-20 minutes. Then sprayed w/the white pearl one coat. Along the bottom edge of the indentation on the sides of the body the primer seemed to have built up. I didn't notice this until the top coat, but I have a little bit of orange peel where it looks like the primer was still gassing out. I also tried to keep it to one coat like the can states. The final coat of the white pearl is not very smooth, but the primer was also not very smooth underneath. I know I could/should have wet sanded it, but this was basically a test and will smooth out the top coat later.
The Impala I sprayed w/o priming and used the metallic lime green. It took several coats to get a consistent finish. Finish was also much smoother overall.
I will post pictures later tonight.
Anyone else have similar experience w/the Testors One Coat Lacquer?
Thanks,
Tim
