Jaguar has made a grand appearance at every Geneva Motor Show for the past few years with models set to push the big cat’s envelope further in terms of speed. Just last year, one of the most impressive models launched on the market was the new Jaguar XKR-S, and now we hear that Jaguar is headed back to Geneva with a topless version of the same RS model.
A Jaguar insider revealed to AutoExpress that the soft-top XK would also get the R-S badge. Apparently, "the car was designed as a convertible", so the company wouldn’t really need to add any extra bracing to cope with the 550 HP and 501 lb/ft of torque produced by the AJ-V8 all-aluminum engine with twin-vortex Roots-type supercharger.
In terms of outward appearance, the new XKRS Convertible will share the same wide wheel arches, front and rear carbon spoilers, and extra front air scoops as the coupe. It will also get the same tuned Performance Active Exhaust.
The same Jaguar insider also told the magazine that the tuned 5.0-liter V8 would also get dropped into the XF. This would allow the Jaguar XFR-S sedan to come bearing more than the 503HP XFR with a 0-60mph sprint time of under four seconds and a top speed of more than 180mph.
Stay tuned for more details!
