Well, shortly after deciding to pick up car modeling after 30 years, since I was a teenager, I bought five Datsun kits from e-bay - two 510's, two 240z's, and a 1200 coupe. One of the Z's, factory-sealed by the way, came without the nose piece. Revell Germany cannot locate one for me, and I don't want to try fabricating one in my modeling infancy.
I will, however, try mating the Z chassis & interior to another car. Enter the Sunny...
I thought this was a normal modeling kit, but it turned out to be a junky, battery-operated thing with no motor and very little detail. The body, on the other hand, is acceptable and very sturdy...
... and the slight difference in scale will allow the longer Z chassis to tuck into the B body. It might make for a pretty cool Datsun 1200 with Z suspension and inline six. This may be an unrealistic hybrid, but I am not throwing the collective 80 bucks in the garbage.
Also, the 1200, not having engine detail, does not have a functional hood, so I will apply the tips I have read here on how to open door & trunks etc.
Stay tuned,
Greg
